The whole point of recommendations is that they don't need to be from UA. Your chances are far better if you have 2 recommendations for every chapter including women that are involved in their sorority as alums, served on council while in college, etc, even if that area is not Alabama and that college is not UA.

However, do not get caught in the trap of getting recs so you can "pledge a top house." Get recs for everyone because even the houses this site claims are "uncompetitive" or "easy to get into" cut HUNDREDS of girls every year including girls who are cut from everyone. Don't make the mistake of thinking you're too good for any house on this campus.
