It means selecting only one chapter.

And yes, I did this. I knew I was where I meant to be and totally felt at home with my choice. The other chapter I had at pref was very nice to me but I felt no connection to them and felt everything was forced chit chat between us. I know I took a risk only selecting one chapter but I didn’t wish to join the other. I was thrilled on bid day to receive a bid!

I don’t know how often people do this. I don’t recommend it to others even though I did it myself.

I didn’t but i seriously considered it. I had 3 houses at pref but just did not feel at all comfortable in 2 of them. My rho chi talked me out of it and i ended up getting a bid from my top house anyway. I’m glad now that i didn’t suicide bc I think i would’ve been happier in either of my bottom 2 houses than no house at all.

I suicided, and honestly i'm glad i did. i went into pref with my top three houses, and realized that two of my top three just weren't the house for me. i know suiciding isn't for everyone, but i'm glad i did it. i look now at the girls who would have been in my pledge class, and i know i just wouldn't have fit in.

I tried to convince my younger friend, who had two houses for pref, to not suicide bid. She did anyway and ended up with no bid. She was miserable all semester thinking about how everyone around her had houses. Her gpa really suffered because of this and she isn't in a good place for rush next year either because of the low grades.
