freshman should rush
by: uafor all of you high school girls on here saying that they only want to be friends with sorority girls and they want to go to date parties and swaps but they want to be a GDI... sorry it doesn’t work like that! You’re either in a sorority and you get to be friends with sorority girls and go to fun parties and events and have all the benefits of Greek life or you’re not in a sorority and you sit in your dorm and go to classes and are friends with weird people! I know y’all are stalking instas right now so look at the life of a sorority girl vs the average GDI... yeah I would rush.

Also for the girls that say they don’t want to rush but they want to be super involved... being in a sorority gives you the connections to be involved. Most of the time people get positions in SGA because of Greek life, the B+ foundation is Greek, UADM is like 90% Greek if not more, if you don’t rush you can do other clubs like but don’t expect to get involved in the things that everyone else is involved with because you just won’t have the connections

As a GDI that rushed, I can say this thread is absolute BS. I am in freshman forum, am super involved on campus, and am LOVING my freshman year. I believed the hype that I would not be able to get involved and have a stellar resume and make tons of friends if I was not in a sorority at UA but I was so wrong. I have yet to apply for anything and been turned down. I have great friends both in sororities and not in sororities, I go to fraternity date parties, and I have yet to “sit in my dorm, go to class, and be friends with weird people” lmao. If you want to be in a sorority go for it, but if you want to save thousands of dollars and be 100% in control of YOUR college experience, you can and will enjoy college just as much as a GDI ;)

i decided not to rush and i have close friends in different sororities. i still go to fraternity date parties, i go to fraternity parties w/ my friends in sororities. i do wish i could have themed swaps and be a part of a sisterhood but i just can't afford the dues. being a gdi really is not that bad and i've decided to make the most of it since the situation is beyond my control
