Honestly, I think students are happier at Auburn. Alabama is so petty and pretentious. There are so many unhappy people here. The Greek system is "good" at both, but way more expensive and hurtful at Alabama.

Auburns Greek life is going down hill. Fraternities are going down in droves. 3 Frats got kicked off campus in a span of one year. The rules have gotten stricter lately, which makes the parties not as fun. The sororities have dorms in place of houses. The dorms have a kitchen, living area and meeting space, still it's not the same as a house.

Alabamas Greek life is bigger, more expensive, and the school focuses on it. It's not fun to be a gdi at Alabama. Some people become so confined in Greek life that they forget who they are. Their letters become their life. Some old row guys only speak to old row girls. The sororities are so big that you won't be close with everyone.

If you have to ask, go to Auburn

Honestly, is sounds like you have already decided Bama is not the place for you. Greek life can be be fantastic here no matter what house you are in, but honestly, you drive your own experience by getting involved in your house. That will be true at Bama or Auburn. I personally enjoy living in my house and going to swaps...which really would not be the same at Auburn.
