give me real advice on sophomore rush!!!!!!
by: hiI want real, honest opinions and advice about sophomore rushing. Give me the cold truth, no sugar coating. Please tell me what I seriously need to do/don't do to have a successful rush. I've heard stories about Sophomores having full schedules every round and getting into their top sorority, and other stories about Sophomores getting dropped by almost all of the sororities by round 2 and eventually getting released from recruitment. What are the keys to a successful Sophomore rush and how can I hope to have a similar experience to my first example? I appreciate any comments or suggestions!!!

Did you rush last year, and get a bid? If you did, you won't be one of those mythical Sophomores with full schedules.
Unless you have perfect grades, have gotten to know a LOT of greeks, and are very active on campus, my house will drop you if they dropped you before.
If you didn't, and you are awesome, you have a chance.

I had a full schedule as a sophomore (I did not rush last year, but got dropped from some of my tops every round, my bottoms moved up). Have awesome grades, get involved in philanthropic organizations on campus (great conversation topic during rounds), and make connections. Connections are probably the most important factor, if you have several girls in the house pulling for you (probably not just one) you have a much better shot at getting a bid. Also keep a clean rep and social media presence. Good luck next year!

don’t lie if someone asks why. i talked to a sophomore during rush and i caught her in a lie. she told each girl in our bump group a different story about why she was re-rushing so i asked someone who i knew would have been in her rho chi group. basically she made a whole story up but couldn’t keep it straight when talking to us
