ua early college gpa

by: Pnm

My high school gpa is a 3.9 and I would like to take some UA Early College classes online over Spring. I have already taken and passed the initial course and have been okayed to take some challenging courses. While I'm expecting to do well I also want to be realistic that I could earn a B in one and automatically drop below my high school gpa. Will Panhellenic take my high school gpa, my UA gpa (10 credits) or list both? If anyone has taken these courses before starting college I would love be to hear how it went for you. Thanks

They’ll most likely use your UA GPA. They will be some slack with college GPA since it is harder, so even like 3.4/3.5 would be really good for a semester’s worth of classes.

My sorority would much rather a 3.9 high school gpa then a 3.5 college gpa. Please try to do really well or else it may actually affect your rush.

3.5 is deans list.... you’re crazy lmao. I’ve seen girls with 3.9 HS GPAs come in and get a 2.5 their first semester. High school gpa really isn’t the best indicator you’ll thrive in college classes.

@Yikes is an idiot. 3.5 college gpa is very good.

Well I kind of agree with Yikes... maybe you guys are in sororities that care less about grades?

Any girl taking both UA accredited classes her senior year/ pre-freshman summer AND finishing HS is winning at life. If your house doesn't want her, I'm sure all the others will be happy to meet her and maybe place her in theirs. You go, OP!

I took early college classes my senior year of high school. I had an amazing rush and ended up in a top tier house. My UA GPA was only a 3.35 and high school 3.7. I eventually got dropped from Alpha Chi and I'm sure this had a lot to do with it BUT if you have a good personality and connect well to others, you will have a good rush! Taking UA classes on top of school work. extra curriculars, and jobs is SO hard. Most of them will be understanding about that. I would say just try to make sure that you have above a 3.5. I would suggest taking easier classes next semester through UA, and then continuing through the summer and taking your harder classes so that you have more time to focus on them, resulting in a higher GPA of you are really worried about it.

I have a 3.0 from high school. I see you have to have that to get into early college. If I take early college and do well will they use my college transcript instead

If you take a full semester, we will look at both. If you get a 3.3 or better and we really like you, it gives the bump groups a good reason to keep you on our list. All houses want girls that will be successful in their UA courses.

Thanks @both. I think it will be hard to get more than 8 but hopefully if I do well it will show I am better prepared. I know everyone says this but I am at a private catholic school that still does an 93 as an A and a 85 is a C. I would have a 3.4 if I was on the 70,80,90 system but I don't so I'm hoping if I show something positive it will help. It's really hard to earn an A at my school. They believe that the average grade should be a C. It was only freshman year that hurt my grades. I just wasn't mature enough. I have received a 4.0 sophomore and junior year so if they removed freshman year that would make my day.
If that something I should mention or does it look like excuses
