sorority seating blocks
by: Strong womanI know a couple of the sororities have their own blocks this year for games. Sadly, this is considered daring!! I think it's awesome. Who all has them ? I only know of 2 but think there are more.

Block seating looks like fun but I think a lot of sororities won’t apply either way because while Chi o and pi phi might be right in front, it would be really embarrassing if your chapter got stuck in the back somewhere (since it’s done off of merit).
My sorority decided not to apply only because deciding who would get the wristbands would be a huge nightmare lol

There’s no way we could apply for exactly the number of wristbands that we have seniors and it work out well, especially factoring in dates. Also they don’t have to give you how many you apply for, they can give you less. Just way too big a headache for our chapter. Regular student seats are better anyway

Bottom line is girls are going to complain either way and we decided it wasn’t worth it with the added drama— not sure why that is worth the pointless name calling.

Seriously.
If ANY sorority on this campus wanted block seating they could get it. They are ALL more qualified than pretty much every frat. It's ridiculous that we continue to let the boys control something we are more deserving of.

So how does that work with dates? Do we get to stop with the pressure to have a date to a freaking football game, are the sorority girls with seats asking GUYS to be their dates, or waiting for guys to ask them still?
I have a boyfriend, and his seats aren't that great. I'd love to have better seats and just bring him along, but I also love the idea of girls who don't want to bring a date for whatever reason, just being able to enjoy the game with their sisters.

Honey, have you ever been to Alabama during football season? Most of our women KNOW their football. I was at my hairdresser's last week and two ladies there were intently discussing the new quarterback at Auburn. And they were Alabama graduates!
