Any bid is a good bid at Alabama. Looks can hold you back but looks are honestly something that can be improved tbh. Why do you think you're not pretty? Lose any extra weight, practice a ton with different makeup techniques, figure out what hair color and cut look best on you and get good at styling it, go tanning or get a spray tan-because trust me everyone looks better with some color. Either way if you have a decent gpa and your decent at talking to people you'll be fine

If you live instate or have connections in the house you will be fine even if average looking or worse and have a chance at any house. If you are southern and average with a good resume you will have a chance at most houses. If you are far out of state you should not count on getting what people on here consider a "good bid" unless you are an amazing outlier: over the top beautiful, pageant winner, really rich, famously connected and even those girls end up in middle to lower ranked houses.

If you are looking for ranked good houses it is about connections more than looks. Far OOS has a much higher bar for acceptance. Unless you are strikingly beautiful (attractive is not enough), over the top rich not just upper middle class or well off, or very well connected you will be put in a middle or lower ranked house and then told to be happy that you have anything. All of those other things do not matter. Average girls who are OOS should be happy they are not dropped and are accepted by lower tier houses. The silver lining is all houses are filled with great girls and all houses have girls that look like the real world, some more beautiful than others. The lower ranked houses have very beautiful girls, above average girls, and real life girls just like the highly ranked house but they will be predominately from far out of state. You will find strong sisterhoods in all of the houses that will take all types of girls even if they aren't southern.

There are very many average/below average looking girls in most of the sororities at Alabama

It depends. The houses who recruit mainly around looks probably won't want you but the houses who want more well rounded individuals will if you have other good qualities. you have to ask yourself if you would really wanna be in a house the recruits solely on looks anyways ya know?

Beauty is pretty subjective per house. A "pretty" girl at Phi Mu has a more southern belle, pageantry look in my opinion, whereas a "pretty" APhi girl is more trendy, done up kinda pretty, and a XO is a more relaxed but very put together kinda pretty. Just don't be so down on yourself and focus on the relationships you're making

Go look at all the bid day pictures. Believe me, average and even below average looking girls get bids.
It's more about personality. Yes, looks are way up there, but if you're gorgeous and hateful, nobody will give you a bid.
