best way to get sorority connections??
by: unknownI'm from a really small town and I don't know anyone in any of the sororities at bama. What's the best way for me to meet some girls in sororities? I know connections are really important.

There isn't an active around who wants to be used for 'connections' so you can get a bid.That being said, it can be done, but you are going to have to be creative and figure it out on your own. And most of all, it has to be genuine.
You can still get a bid without the connections, but you better have a good resume, some good recs for each and every house, and good grades. Keep your rep clean. And come with an attitude that no matter how great you were in HS, you are a dime a dozen in the rush pool. Be open to accepting a bid from any house even if you do manage to get some connections. They are all good.

Amen to that. It is stated all the time but needs to be repeated often: even the "lower tier" houses at Bama are filled with beautiful and accomplished young ladies with lots to offer and who had good grades and a lot high school activities. The entire pnm pool is loaded. This is why we consider Bama to have the most competitive rush. It is not that it is hard to get a bid (because it is not hard to get "a" bid) but rather it is because the competition within the pnm pool is so fierce. So many great pnms. The numbers dictate that not everyone will get a bid to a top house.
