Some bigs go all-out, some don't. It's about your big, not your house.

i think you have it a little mixed up. i don't think any houses discourage going all out. what they do discourage is spending an excessive amount of money and buying more "luxurious" things. all houses want their new girls to feel welcomed and a way to do so is by making big/little week special. but there's a difference between putting in time/effort in making homemade gifts and just spending a bunch of money on "gifts."

well, if you already know that much, then you are just trying to bring up something to point out a house you like that does.... or slam a house that doesn't.

My house discourages excessive spending but the girls who can do and the girls who can't just don't, it's not a huge deal. My chapter also usually buys three or four gifts with chapter funds for the baskets so the bigs have a good starting point

My intention is not to make a house look good or bad. I guess my post wasn't clear, what I want to know is which houses encourage spending "luxurious" amount of money?

If I knew the answer I wouldn't be on here posting. I know my house frowns on publicly showing that you spent a lot of money. Reason being is they don't want another new member who might have not had such a generous big feel bad.
