They had a great rush this year, especially with no house. I think they are on the right track. Just keep up grades and involvement.

i come on here on a pretty regular basis and very rarely do they get hate... or at least compared to some of the other houses.

contrary to popular belief, ranks DO change. i know a lot of people like to say "the ranks have been the same for decades" but that's not true. i remember alum on here postings ranks from when they were here and they were definitely significantly different from today. that being said, every house goes through rough times. as of right now, i think aopi is struggling to attract one certain "type" of girl because they aren't really known for anything special. no offense or anything either... it's just some houses are known for academics/involvement/social life/etc. and aopi isn't really known for anything in particular. i know last year they pledged a lot of instate/souther girls to kind of rebrand their house as more southern as opposed to more oos but it backfired because they were just look at zip codes and a lot of said girls from the south weren't the finest. this year, they pledged more attractive girls but again it's hard for them because if they have the opportunity to take a prettier girl it's usually because she was a grade/reputation risk.

aopi is fine though. if you think ranks define or validate a house then you're lost.

I honestly think not having a new house has been a detriment to new row houses especially because they need something to "pull" PNMs aside from the history/prestige that old row has and a huge mansion definitely does the trick. Look at ADPI versus Theta. Look at how well GPB did this year. I could go on.

While I agree with the poster above, I also have to say I did not care for that aggressive tone. AOPi has had some rough years, but it seems like they're sort of coming out of the fog.. that being said, they really need to watch it with the grade and reputation risks. Like REALLY

Idk I just don't see how AOPi is trending up. Obviously this is just MY opinion though. To me it seems like they're in a rut, along with a few other houses... Trying to improve but it seems like every time they take a step forward they take two back. Overall a very average house and until they improve dramatically then you can't really say they're a "middle tier" house or that they're trending up.

Dixie Mafia national organization. No house. No need to say more.

Certain members of the board have direct ties to the DM. They reorganized the board once the gossip got out and now these questionable folks are in the separate company that manages the real estate. All I can say is to watch your wallet with this crew as they are super shady. Its all about the almighty $$$$.

"Dixie" = HQ in the South (Nashville)

"Mafia" = Questionable business practices

Example: They pressured the house corporation of the chapter at UC Berkeley into signing over ownership of the chapter's very valuable house to them. After the house corporation said no, national first punished the chapter by forbidding them from holding recruitment events there, then by shutting them down. The chapter then reorganized as a local.

AOII national was also sued by the house corp for the University of Minnesota chapter for trying to strongarm them into giving up property ownership. A judge ruled in their favor, although they reached an agreement with national that AOII would manage the house but not own it outright.

Pretty sure "Dixie Mafia" is just figurative. The real DM is an organized crime outfit based on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

AOPI is usually ranked low not because there is anything wrong with them but because other houses have gotten better. There are a few houses that a few years ago anyone would have picked aopi over that have drastically imporved. Aopi hadn't made those improvements so it's becoming difficult for them to compete

It's not really that AOII is truly bottom tier or worse than they were when they were ranked higher—it's just that other houses have improved and they've stayed kind of stagnant.
