You're not seriously trying to suggest that all the presidential scholars are in new row sororities, right? Many of these smart girls ARE from the south and will stay here after graduation, in what you apparently believe to be a cultural wasteland. Can't believe you just turned a four word comment about nerds into an essay about how stupid you think southerners are. "Cultural offerings," please.

Old row grades is alpha chi xo and AGD
Kappa and KD are like 10 and 11 this semester and usually are closer to the bottom
Both of those houses should not touch a girl below 3.2 no matter what they need to stop pledging pnms below a 3.0

This is an old post bumped up for some reason but I think the answer still holds. The question asked for OOS Presidential and NMS. There are plenty of IS top scholars but this specifically asked about OOS. I do think that the top scholars who really concentrate on their grades end up in Theta if they are not connected, Southern, or gorgeous enough to be in XO or AXO. The OR houses take top OOS scholars if they will bring something else to the table (beauty or $). They have enough IS top scholars, friends, and legacies so they need the extra bump for the OOS girls. Theta gets a lot of engineering, finance, accounting,premed/prelaw, and science girls from OOS.

I'm a OOS NMF on a full ride. I'm also an Engineering major and in Honors college. I'm not in any of the houses mentioned yet by name.
A good portion of girls in my classes are in sororities, and they are pretty spread out. I wouldn't say that any one sorority dominates. I also know two other NMF's here who are in two other sororities that aren't mine.

BTW...those two other girls...One is from Alabama, and the other is from a neighboring state.
