Ok, I'm going to be honest with you now. AXO is ranked at the top because they have always ranked near the top., period. Their reputation gets them decent girls each year and they do a good job making every girl think that AX O wants you to pledge them when they really intend to cut you. They stay on top by avoiding scandal for the most part. It tends to get them either real of fake super syrupy sweet girls. And really in personality they are a little boring. They really need a little edge to be a fun group of girls. I know it is perfect for some people, but others really aren't happy there because they feel like they have to be so fake when they are around. They are decently involved on campus, but not super involved. You can't deny their grades, though.
I guess it is a sorority full of the super sweet valedictorian. Not everybody likes the smartest kid in the class because most of us weren't the smartest kid in the class. They truly skate on reputation and it just perpetuates itself.

I preffed AXO and put them first, and I was destroyed when they cut me. Now, that was years ago, and I know I ended up where I was supposed to be. However, I was your typical AXO recruit. I never drank in HS, had great grades, competed in AL's Junior Miss and was in top 5, etc. etc.
Now I know I wouldn't have been as happy there as I am now because it seems like they're super competitive (like I am), which tends to lead to competition within the sisterhood. Not something you may want.

They get a lot of the really strong southern girls with resumes, connections, etc. For a lot of people the fact that they are a bit boring/unoffensive/stay out of drama IS what makes them sorta top-tier... It's hard to come up with bad stuff to say about them because they just kinda, well, AXO. They have their specific brand and they ALWAYS get the girls that fit their brand.

And I cut AXO so don't go there. I preffed Chi O, DDD, and PM in no certain order a few years ago.

They don't "always get" anybody. They definitely recruit to a certain type, have high standards, care a lot about reputation, etc. However, they lost a bunch of their girls this year to Kappa, PM, KD, XO and also even ZTA and PBP. I think they are one of the top houses here and probably first or second by almost any measure--but they are slipping some if you ask me. The top OOS girls are not programmed since 8th grade to want AXO and they don't have the peer pressure from their Alabama high school to pursue AXO because of some perceived prestige factor. Again, I think they are great and are right there at the top, but they could use a little more balance, loosen up a little, and actually have some fun that is not programmed and for the cameras.
