why all the interest in theta?
by: wonderingall of a sudden it seems that Theta is getting a lot of hate and not sure why. They took a lot of pnms but as i hear it they are trying to increase their numbers in advance of their new house. Lots of pnms is not bad from the outside. hard to create a strong sisterhood but good for recruiting and making their house known on campus especially with strong pnms who are going to make the house look great. seems like a good strategy to me and seems they landed some quality girls and I think we all need to wish them well and watch as these girls shine.

I posted this, and I'm not a Theta. My best friend from rush was the president a few years back, and I adore her. She was from a great in-state high school and preffed Theta along with Phi Mu and a house I can't remember now, but she CHOSE Theta. I know that it sounds like I'm a Theta, but I'm really not. I'm from another middle-tier house that gets hated on occasionally on this site.I just can't stand when women put other women down. We have enough battles to fight.

Bottom tier houses are consistently hated on and so Theta is no different. They're an easy target because of where they rank but people fail to realize their strong areas... Or if they do recognize the good things about Theta people call it out as self ranking.
Truth is Theta is a very strong house. Great grades, super involved girls, and despite their large size they're known for having a strong sisterhood. Their '17 PC was very impressive to me (lots of pretty and smart girls) and I know they really turned things around from last year's rush.
The hate towards various being spewed on this site is coming from people with an agenda... So just remember the next time you see XYZ house getting an unusual amount of hate it's probably from someone they're competing with. Panlove girlies.

This whole Theta stuff is just another way to see how much people will perpetuate stereotypes just to keep a house in their "place." And this isn't just about Theta... It ties back to how no matter how hard ANY NR house works, there will still be a big pushback because no one wants to see NR "overcome" OR. It's sad. But the honest truth is that most NR houses are trending up while most OR houses are trending down.
Theta is doing amazing, NR is doing amazing, keep watching.

I know a differnt bottom house (that also gets bullied on this site) that chose to take less than quota this year because they wanted to only keep quality girls. If you think about it 90 cute girls out of a PC of 120 is way better than 90 cute girls out of a PC of 159. They also set themselves up to be able to COB some of the great girls that didn't wanna go thru fall rush. Good for them for trying something different to improve. Not that Theta's approach in taking a large class is bad just different
