by: northerngalA friend of mine who is a KD pledge just confirmed the story to me (I'm in a different house). I think the commentary on here and other places to blame the concerned Mom and the new pledge are awful. So, this morning I created a 10 page document detailing all the commentary on this situation from greekrank, other similar sites, screen shots from snapchat and facebook (including original posts from pledge and mother) and sent them to all the tv news stations in Birmingham and New York. I include the New York stations because I was concerned about a local coverup as UA has a long storied history of covering up similar stories. I also don't believe the national with do anything as this is their most profitable chapter in the country and they can't afford to lose them. Please Please Please send in email information to the local news channels and hopefully they will prevent a coverup of this sorry event. No place for Hazing!!!!!!!

It was done and I'm send out more documents shortly to ATL stations too. Can't have hazing be ok.

I appreciate your concern - but think it might have been better to let the University know/handle the situation with the family/sorority involved. One of my favorite things about our football coach is that he always gets all the facts and speaks to parties/players involved before he speaks to the press. Something can be learned from that quality.

Don't you think there are more pressing issues for the national press to cover than a drunk girl in a sorority at a university?

Send out a million correspondents to do field reports of all the drink freshman college girls across the country.

New York will care. Much press coverage on the Today Show about people leaving their sororitys a couple of years ago. Greek life is under attack across the country. We cannot afford this kind of behavior at our school and can't depend on school, panhel or KD national to do anything.
