The one that came to Bama did not pledge KD but had a lot of social bc she knew everyone anyway. She just saved money on dues is all.

Me too. KD's pc was out in force last night going v hard so they do not appear concerned about anything. There was a Facebook post but the info may have been way overblown and no proof of anything

My guess is that the pledge was overwhelmed, out of her element, and confused as to whether the actives in charge were kidding or not. She told her mom, her mom assumed the worst case scenario (NOT an unreasonable thing to do considering what just happened at penn state) and now we have this. It's possible they will get social probation for a semester but doesn't seem to be as big of a deal as it originally seemed. Don't blame the mom or her daughter for their reactions but KD is certainly not at risk of getting their charter pulled or anything like that.

I think thst if this story was entirely accurate the media would have picked it up by now. It is either very much overblown or just not true.
I am also in the camp that thinks that even if immediate action needed to be taken, FB wasn't the place to find help. If immediate danger had passed, perhaps think it through a bit before posting
And I don't understand the "not from the south" and "doesn't know how it works down here" comments. Is the internet different in Vermont?

Yes, and the really sad thing is that girl may not feel like she can share as much with her mom now if she thinks that mom is going to run with it like that.

Both of the girls in the video were dropped from every house during rush. Ever since then they act like they are KD's They are at all of there events and even there on bid day with their KD buttons on. They have been told lots of times by alumnae to take off the buttons and get out of the house. I am sure they will put on their resumes that they were members of KD. It is so sad that they want to belong to a group that didn't want them and the alumnae are sick of seeing them act like they belong.

How is this even allowed? They pretend they are in KD but aren't? That is just sad. I've seen them attending date parties and also wearing the buttons like they were one of them

Maybe this girl was a first generation college student! I was- my Mom didn't know the first thing about any of this and still doesn't!!
She's trying to help her daughter. If anything, be mad at the dummies who chose to give drinks to these girls!!
