freak out mointain brook and mobile moms

There IS a lot of cross rushing between OR and NR and NR is increasingly getting girls OR wants and "needs".

I think as several OR examples will attest - clinging to a limited list of known girls from specific areas in Alabama results in less than stellar results.

To keep up an OOS draw is needed in OR. Good for them! But with that, internal cliques are known to remain and hard to break. The Alabama insiders stick to themselves and can be exclusionary. I know, there are exceptions. But YOU know it's generally true.

As a result savvy OOS girls fearing being a "filler" (even though it's a filler OR desperately needs given house sizes and expenses) elects to become a more included member among girls like them.

That is the dynamics of NR improvement. These girls are coming from more interesting , more wealthy and more intelligent places.

How many posts are you going to make about this? You're trying to convince yourself at this point lol they don't care. This is coming from someone in NR. Lets move on without keep mentioning Old Row. Plz.

Guess what? The Mobile moms and Mountain Brook moms don't care what OOS girls went NR. Like for real. Not on the radar.

You are proving the point!

Because there aren't enough of the Mobile and MB girls to fill the house and meet expenses.

That's exactly the issue. The houses have gotten to the size and expense that the MB and Mobole girls can't solely support them.

So they "need" the OOS girls and pursue many OOS pnms during rush.

Then as noted above, the "we don't care about you". comes out.

If they stick to the only the ones we know approach - the houses seem weak by comparison.

Great point. Then if they "fill" with "B" level the house rep falls and, presto chango, what's old is new and what's new is old and we are in a new era

And the "B" level is not the stronger OOS it's is the weaker in state.

The houses pursuing that model - with a very strong in state bias and deeper into the depth chart selection approach - are falling.

Doing better are the OR houses open to the better OOS. But if they become exclusionary to OOS actives, that catches up to them too. I think we have seen this this year.

Sorry @GuessWhat, you clearly don't care. But you may want to rethink that!!

That's cause mountain brook and mobile moms know that in comparison to most OOS girls families their median incomes are pennies

Actually not true this.

The OR houses know their return rates and the MASSIVE selective cuts they have to make because of those high return rates. They are not concerned about your ignorant opinions and speculation.

I didn't mean that Mobile moms and Mountain Brook moms don't care about OOS girls at all. I should have said I was referring to the last statement.: NR gets more OOS girls from wealthier and interesting areas. Who cares about that? Girls shouldn't be measured according to their wealth or what interesting city they are from. It's according to who THEY are. Look at OR bid day lists and member lists. There are plenty of out of state girls on them and in them. If a wealthy OOS girl went NR, who cares? Just because you are wealthy doesn't mean you have good character. Just because you are from Mobile or Mountain Brook doesn't mean you are only going to go OR. It depends on the girl and her personality and who SHE is.

lol, so if oos girls are so awesomely more interesting, wealthy, and intelligent, "These girls are coming from more interesting , more wealthy and more intelligent places," how did they wind up in Alabamy? Like shouldn't they be at schools like Stanford, UT, and Duke?

umm check the chapter grade reports.

Alabama actually gives hefty scholarships to oos kids with really good grades/test scores - people who could have gone to more selective schools but choose to take the full ride at Alabama. Apparently Bama has to look oos to improve their academic standing.

Yep. And over 75% of bids are issued to oos pnms, so every chapter has more oos pnms than instate, even on OR.

And if you wonder where the oos pnms with those stellar grades are pledging, like I said, check the chapter grade reports. Clearly some chapters are a lot more selective than others who have a vast majority of girls from "more intelligent" places.

New member GPA at the close of last fall's semester ranges from 3.7 to 2.8. Check the reports on the GL site.

Big difference.
