Rumor. It's much simpler than that. The old row PARTY was once sponsored by Budweiser but isn't anymore. What actually happened is that only fraternities were considered old row and girls had first circle. Then the guys decided they wanted sororities included and picked their six favorite (aka top) sororities (phi mu was added later). Simple as that

None of these are correct.
Old Row refers to a group of houses considered to be of old standing on campus in terms of family connections, community involvement, and in some cases, money.
New Row is considered to be exactly that...newer families in these areas to UA.
Does every girl within a house fall strictly within these descriptions? Of course not! Not with huge classes. But, in general, the houses themselves are established as such.
No need to fight over it. Congrats to every class. Stellar girls all around, and great recruitment by UA admissions. RTR.

Finally someone posts something accurate about old row.
OR isn't what houses are oldest on campus and it doesn't have anything to do with the Budweiser myth. Zeta, ADPi, and DZ have never been old row.
First circle is DDD,KD,and AGD,and refers to their location on sorority row before the new houses were built.
It seems like only new row members obsess about this.
