dropped
by: IdkI don't understand how I got dropped from every single house. On the first day I had pretty decent conversations with every single girl, and managed to only get invited back to five houses. After that I cried during one of the videos, and still got dropped from that house. For sisterhood I only got invited back to one house and thought the girl and I had a good conversation and seemed interested in their sorority but I guess it wasn't good enough. Does anybody have any insight on what could have happened, because I'm at a loss. I did everything I was supposed to do. I dressed conservatively, no watch, made eye contact and seemed to have thoughtful, and intelligent conversations.

this exact same situation happened to me girl. i'm just trying to hold my head high, move on, and i'm gonna rush next year! i would suggest doing that too, because i really want to be a part of greek life :) there's always next year, and if it doesn't work then, then it's probably not meant to be for me at all.

Sorry this happened but you still have lots of chances to be greek! ADX (christian) and SDT (social) will be recruiting soon! You can go to their events and if you like what you see, join them! Both are on the up and up from what I've heard and seen!
If you decide you don't wishvto pursue these options, there will be COB in the spring. I suggest making multiple good friends in multiple houses so you have pull. Many sororities don't do COB so you should keep an open mind.
Lastly, next year Sigma Kappa is colonizing. If they do a good job it will be very competetive recruitment and you are not guaranteed a spot. This option would be a lot of work but also fulfilling.
You have so many options and I truly hope all girls whose recruitment week didn't turn out how they wanted end up finding a home here.

..... don't know why you didn't listen. you can't leave anyone out or you take a huge chance at not getting a bid. Probably would have been a quota add (since you weren't high enough on their bid list to get a bid when you suicide), but that is the HUGE risk you took...

You didn't have recs to ALL the houses. You were involved in 2 clubs, which you specified as lparticipating In last year., one of which is where your volunteer hours came from. Relatively good grades- so not stellar. In referencing your grades as better then southern folks, you must be OOS. How are your looks and your outfits compared to the other PNMs?
You are either not a freshman, which might be why you were dropped, or a freshman with a weak resume', which might be why you were dropped. Sororities look for good looking girls who have a sense of style, get good grades, volunteer, join organizations and take on leadership roles, and have good personalities and conversation skills.
And recs. You have to have recs. Recs do not guarantee that you will be asked back, but they are almost always a guarantee that you won't if you don't have them.
If you are a freshman rushing, it is better to have been involved in a club, honor society, or philanthropy for several years. We are looking for consistency and dedication. What you reported shows neither.
If you are a freshman it looks like you joined your two clubs to pad your thin resume'. If you are a sophomore you should have made friends with sorority members last year who could've invited you over for lunches or dinners so you could get to know many members, which in turn would've helped you out during rush,

IF you went to every party on your list and IF you ranked every house, you would have a bid in your hand. IF ( and I mean the chances are .0001%) the software made an error, you should talk to your Rho chi, not greekrank.
