How hard is it to get a bid through COB? I really want to be in a sorority but I only have one house left, and I've felt out of place there all week, so I'm not sure what to do.

Give this one a chance first. You can always drop and COB elsewhere.

But then I'd have to wait a year, and by then I'd be a junior so I doubt anyone would take me then.

Truth - as a sophomore, if you have a Pref invitation anywhere, that is going to be your best chance of ever joining a sorority. My advice is to take the bid and put all your effort into bonding with your pledge sisters from Bid Day to the week of initiation. Attend everything - even the non-mandatory events. Make lunch dates. Sit together in class. Go out on weekends. Once you're in a chapter, you'll realize you don't interact much with the actives who rushed you. It's all about your pledge class.

Unless you have A TON of active friends in one chapter who can pull you in through COB (assuming their chapter is even eligible...), I don't think you're going to have better results. Why will the chapters who just released you be interested in you next week when COB opens? Not trying to be harsh, just realistic.

Was this your second time to rush?

Best advice you're going to get! GoGreek is so right. Seriously, I know so many who started sorority life feeling unsure about their chapter, but never looked back after giving it some time and making an effort. This sorority sees something that makes them think you'll be a good fit and they know a lot more about the inside of their chapter than a PNM does, so give this a real chance. I'm starting my 4th year here and know more girls who regret NOT giving a sorority a chance than I do ones who regret giving it their best and it still not being right for them. I was a little unsure about my chapter going in, but can't imagine college without it now. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!! I ended up going through with the house I went to for pref, and I'll definitely try to make the most of it. I did not rush last year, and I really wish I did but at least I have the chance to join one now :)

Also realized the university has me classified as a junior by credits so I feel like I'm probably lucky that I had the opportunity to visit a house for pref at all.

You don't think you can find a friend group out of 300-400 girls? All houses have all kinds of girls, if you can't find a friend group,it's on you. Not trying to be rude, just honest. Good luck.
