sisterhood round

by: Why

I don't understand why some houses didn't dress more formal during sisterhood round? I thought it was supposed to be more serious...my 3 favorite houses all dressed down and honestly it made me drop them in my rankings I was really disappointed but shockingly loved the houses more that were dressed up!

Well, if that is how your choose your new sisterhood, I hope you have Phi Mu, because they focus more on the outward appearance than the substance of sisterhood.

it wasn't meant to be based on appearances I don't care for that I just thought it was supposed to be a more serious round rather than jumping around

Apparently 3 of your houses acted the same, so who is wrong, you or them? So take your disappointment and pledge elsewhere.

Although, they did look really beautiful and the color pallet was stunning. Its just a difference..no need to call them out.

If sisterhood to you means being dressed up and a face full of makeup all the time, then run to Phi Mu as fast as you can. But if sisterhood means being able to just be yourself and not have to put on a front all the time, then you really missed the boat with your other three.

Your sorority is your family away from home. It's not a pageant.

I think you're confusing sisterhood with preference. Preference round is supposed to be the more serious round. Sisterhood isn't meant to be formal and serious.

Greek Chic states that each round gets a little dressier so OPs question was probably about that. PNMs wear dressier dresses each round except for philanthropy so OP was questioning why they didn't dress that way. No need for calling out PM or any other sorority. OP wasn't talking about their hair and makeup but the choice of clothing. Take a break on the bashing.

Each house spent a ton of time and money to put on their sisterhood days for you. So you judge them for being dressed to casually?

Hope the door doesn't knock your tiara off on the way out!

Wow you guys are being really harsh here- OP I understand what you are saying and I actually agree- I am NOT a laid back type of girl and last year I also expected some houses to be a little more dressed up / serious during sister-hood and yes it did effect my liking /ranking of those houses. I don't think it is a shallow issue at all- but rather gives a PNM a good taste of each houses individual personality - I probably would not be happy in one of the more laid back houses because that is not who I am- everybody is different.

^^^ yes thank you. Some of us like a more formal/traditional house. That doesn't mean we're shallow. We get judged for wanting to dress nicely, yet most of us don't judge those who prefer to be more casual. Girls, a lot of this judgement eases up after rush, so please don't think we're back and forth with other houses all the time!

If you're referring to Zeta's "BAMA ZETA" tshirt with booty shorts and ripped jeans, I totally get your point. They looked like they were going to a NASCAR race.

Hello, bitter alum of another sorority. I am sure you would know since you and your hubby have NASCAR season tickets.
