does pref matter

Idk about other sororities but we form our bid list after pref after the final votes. One girls vote might not move you much on the list but it could be the difference between your first and second choice

Pref parties aren't so much about us as they are about you-- for a lot of people myself include pref was a total "game changer"- I went in thinking I wanted one house but after pref I put down another one first. My roommate had a similar situation she was really torn between two and pref really made up her mind for her. As actives we rank after pref but because there is no cutting we would be thrilled to have anyone who walks through our door for pref party coming running home to us on bid day- every girl there will be somewhere on our bid list. For the PNM pref sometimes really brings into focus what a sorority is actually all about and where they want to call home. Also pay very close attention to the other girls that are attending the parties with you because these girls will become your pledge class/best friends.

Let's say you have 3 houses (you are lucky) and you blow pref. You will end up somewhere but I know one girl loved who acted snotty and ended up at her 3rd choice. Probally because 1 and 2 ranked her so slow. She matched.
