now what

i do not want to get my hopes up but would like some honest feedback. I came in knowing some girls, but not many.I am not a legacy anywhere and am in state, smaller town. My grades are very good, etc. I was dropped by 2 OR houses and 1 NR after IWT and felt pretty good about that!

I know I am not in the clear or whatever, but is it likely that any more OR houses will cut me after 2nd or 3rd? Which round is more likely? I don't want to rank them all high and then lose out on good NR! Please I am not a troll and need advice.

Best advice is to just follow your heart and don't go by rankings or OR versus NR. Don't let greekrank or tent talk get into your head.

I understand and am not listening to people but I like both OR and NR. There are a couple OR that I really like though, and i just want to know the probability if anyone knows.

My advice-I'm an alum, not an active, but I've been in your position-do not rank OR higher just because they're OR. If you love NR houses, rank them high! Please do not get hung up on the OR/NR because honestly after your first semester, no one cares. You need to be happy in your house-maximize your options. If you love OR houses, that's great, rank them up! But, there are going to be heavy cuts still coming in both rounds. Best of luck!

Follow your heart and not tiers or row. There is no was to know what houses are thinking this early. So many girls and so many cuts to make. If the OR houses are your favs then list them that way but if you are just ranking them based on perceived status don't do it. Put tiers and row out of your head if you can and just be honest with how you feel. If your favorite is a "lower tier" house list them first. There are no second chances so think long and hard about which houses really feel like they could be a good fit because at the end of the day you will be happiest in a house that you fit not one that is considered "better" by others. Try to keep your thoughts to yours of so others opinions don't cloud your judgement or talks to family or your best friend who will not try t influence you one way or another. Good luck

Do sororities cut much after sisterhood? If I make it there, what are my odds

With so many girls every round has pretty drastic cuts. The higher the return rate the higher the cuts. So the more "desirable" houses will cut more because most will have them on there list. The less " desirable" the house the fewer cuts because more will try and drop those houses. After sisterhood you should have a good feeling about where you fit and where you don't but every year girls are surprised. There is no magic formula or signs. Trust your gut , cross you fingers, and say a little prayer.

There are deep cuts every round. Almost 3000 girls going thru! 100-170 girls per house depending on drop/cuts by the end. Do the math.

OP, the only way you would lose out to a good NR in favor of OR is if you get an invite back to the OR houses you rank, which means they definitely like you. rank where your heart is, and if an OR drops you, other houses might move up on your list. It will all work out!
