What do people really think about chi omega at Alabama? my mom was a chi omega and I'm thinking about following in her footsteps.

Good luck getting in. They promise bids but end up dropping girls like crazy. My friend was a legacy and was dropped first round of rush.

Chi O is a strong sorority at UA and it is nationally strong as well. It will be a very special experience if you end up following in your mom's footsteps. Legacies do get special consideration, but regardless just be yourself and be confident when you rush. Don't be intimidated by rumors you hear and just enjoy the experience. It will all work out! If your mom has other Chi O friends then it would be wise to have them write you letters of recommendations. Also, any girls you knew from HS who are active Chi Os should write you letters of rec as well. Good luck and Roll Tide.

Chi o is really respected and has a good rep on campus. And they seem really involved, but they definitely have partiers like every other house too.

Chi O can fill three pledge classes with legacies. There are no guarantees. Keep your eyes and options open.

BEWARE>> SOOO many girls that were Alabama double legacies were told that they would get a bid by these girls and NEVER did! PNM's Mommas and GM's were UA Chi O 's . IT DOESN"T MATTER!!!!! Don't bet on anything these girls tell you. Not even worth it. Don't be tricked and end up without a house :( it sucks!

They lie a lot during rush. Me and every single one of my close friends were lied to by them. The only house that did that to me.

Probably because you suck and they didn't want to tell you to your face and hurt your feelings. I'm sure they had good intentions... They are one of the best. And I'm a unbiased fraternity guy saying this.

It's not that they lie. They have so many legacies they could fill two or three pledge classes with just legacies. If you're a Chi O legacy, do NOT assume you will get a bid.
