There are no guaranteed bids. Not even for a legacy. There are also no assumptions made about a person we have not yet met. We know how to politely inquire of someone whether they prefer their legacy home; legacy pnms should have a prepared, short answer to that question.

So I am really not sure I want my sisters house!
Should I note this in convos? That sounds bad too! Not good to shade her house.
I assume other houses will know my sister is already here, so not mentioning it doesn't mean they wil not be aware.

All the other houses will know about your sister and her house because it will be included in your recs. Just make it a point to casually tell the other houses during IWT that although you are a legacy to XYZ, you are keeping your options open and would like to take your own path.

If she's in an embarrassing house, like DZ or KD, you probably shouldn't bring up which house she's in. That could hurt you with top houses.

I advise against shading any house, not the least that of your sister. Do not count a single chicken. For all you know that legacy house is the best thing you have going for you in this recruitment and if the shade gets back to them you could lose both the place where you threw the shade and the legacy house. It is tough but you need to just make clear that you are keeping an open mind and want to trust the process

having a sister in a house basically guarantees you will be on the first bid list for that chapter. it also scares some houses away and they get weird about it. the confident houses are not deterred though if they believe you are keeping all your options open and they think they are a stronger house than your legacy house. those confident houses understand that little sisters sometimes want to make their own way and are tired of always being in the shadow of their older sister. so it cuts both ways but either way is okay.
