So I'm on the verge of recruitment. I'll be arriving on Friday from the northeast. Petrified and excited.
There's now lots of Bama guys and girls from my area.
The guys seem to be in OR and well respected NR houses. However, all the girls are in lower tier NR houses and they're really pretty and sweet.
Can someone please explain this to me? Is it safe to say that if the girls were IS they would be OR and it's really the fact that they have no connections that they're lower tier NR?
Ive resigned myself that I'll end up in NR....and should I somehow feel bad, consider dropping or just stick with the few girls I know of in Lower Tier houses?
It just seems like I'm at a terrible disadvantage and finding myself stressed.
Someone please explain and try to be honest. I think a lot of us far OSS PNMs feel the same way!

Nothing is wrong with NR but the girls I know aren't in high ranked NR houses. They're in what everyone identifies as lower tier!
It's sort of hard to imagine myself being "bottom" not that I'm stuck up or insecure! I'm pretty and have great grades. I'll be fine with it but was hoping for some reassurance...I guess. But more importantly, why does this seem to happen to every girl I know from my area?

I am so sick of this oos/nr crap and think it's a bunch of insecure nr girls. OR has oos girls. Lots and they aren't filler or whatever the crap you call it.
This stupid crap is regurgitated over and over to sway great oos girls they have no chance so you can get them. Don't listen oos girls.

I had been thinking of 'Bama, but being far OOS, I'm not sure I want to go to a school where I'm already starting a leg down for recruitment for the simple reason I'm not from the south. It seems so crazy to me to be so discriminated against bc I'm not from Smalltown, AL. I will probably not apply sadly, because I LOVE everything else about your school. I've never heard of a school where there is such a marked difference between OOS kids and IS or southern state kids. Besides Greek life, is there a big difference between the two in the classroom or other activities?? I am not even opposed to "bottom" NR.....I have an issue with the fact that I will likely be cut bc my family is from a different part of the country. Other schools I've looked into don't have the same issues. Thoughts???
