Girls with interests or class: Do not pledge these sororities. Trust everyone. They get some good girls but the overwhelming majority are do nothing partiers. Not by any means the old kappa or Kd. Not classy. Nothing redeeming.
No one is trying to fool you- this is the absolute way they are. So if you want that, go for it.

KD's philanthropy is 1000% my favorite and their lack of involvement in it is really disheartening.

There are tons of other sororities with great philanthropies based around children, if that's what you're looking for.

I'm the second reply to this post and an active, not a PNM.
I was assisted by Prevent Child Abuse America as a child, so my internet in their philanthropy is more than about wanting to be involved in children, it is about giving back to an organization that saved my life and helped me become the person I am today.
Really really sad that someone downvoted a child abuse survivor's comment just because they dislike KD.

I agree with a previous poster- if KD tried to recruit involved girls outside their "type" and came out hard for Greek week, you guys would say it's fake and call them try-hards, just like when Kappa raised their minimum suggested GPA. no one wants to see others succeed. Besides, that's not the only way someone can be involved, and with 400+ sisters, no one knows how many of their sisters are in extracurriculars here but are just low key about it. Seems unlikely that all 400 girls just sit in the house all day and stare at the wall.
That being said, I do hope girls who want to join KD and get the house turned around, because I think they have a great history at Alabama and a wonderful philanthropy, and I hate that so many girls feel uncomfortable there. If you join and wish your house was more involved, be the one to start it!

i think its great they don't. it says a lot about the people making parapgraphs about them and who is on here with nothing better to do. they're out havin fun and doing their thing, you should try it! kd/kappa have nothing to prove on greekrank

I second this. Sorority members should be busy with recruitment workshops, not bashing each other on GR. Seems to me like they have the same number of members as "better" houses and the girls all seem happy, so why don't we just leave them alone? Also, not to harp on this, but involvement is so much more than being homecoming queen or SGA president. they're probably involved, just not in your face about it

It may be due to them having better things to do rather than spewing garbage on here. Think about that one while you lick the cheeto dust from your fingers. Troll on! I'm sorry, that was very crass of me to say that about someone hiding behind a keyboard saying bad things about others. Apparently it's easy to stoop to one's level on here.

I'm a two time legacy and my aunt was a KD. I also love their philanthropy and already have friends at other schools that are KD
