trouble having an open mind

realize that a pc17 new member is going to have limited interaction with older girls and your main people will be PC16 and PC17 -- so focus on the girls in front of and around you and get somebody else's experience out of your mind. also know that if you had friends in other sororities their pics are probably the same as those you have already seen.

I was similar to you. I had really close, older friends in two specific sororities and I had such a hard time picturing myself anywhere aside from their houses. I genuinely think that showing up for recruitment and meeting girls in every house will help you stay neutral. There were so many houses that I would never have considered based on my preconceptions where I had great conversations with everyone I spoke to, and that helped me take a step back and realize that I could be happy in many more than just 2 places.

Reality is that 99 percent of the PNMs would be happy in 100 % of the houses if they really wanted to be happy.

is if we lined up girls you had never met from every sorority and removed their letters you 99% wouldn't be able to tell what chapter that girl belonged to. You have to love the active members, not the alums, so just remember that. Another thing that I thinks help is looking at the where people pref's thread. You'll see exactly how close people were to being in sororities that this site makes seem lightyears different.
