perspective on rush

by: Rush

I want to create a thread of "reasons why you chose Bama" for and by pnms.

The reason is keep perspective during rush.

Rush IS stressful and emotional. It's hot and busy and what your life is about got that week. With cuts and cards absent favorite houses it can feel like a punch in the stomach.

But remember this question: "why did I pick Bama"?

With a very few exceptions, the reason is not impacted by the houses you have left on your card!

Keep this in mind!!!!!?

Bama was far and above my favorite of all the similar schools I visited! Warm Weather, the nicest people, good reputation in my program, great campus.

I chose Bama because people here seemed so happy and proud of their school. I am from an area with no major public universities that inspire so much passion in students/alumni. Coming here has made me feel like I am a part of the biggest, coolest family ever.

Chose Bama to see another part of the country and not go to the same schools as all the rest of my high school. Great people, beautiful campus, steadily growing in the rankings, and other smart kids in the honors college round out the list. The generous scholarship allows me to fully fund graduate school or have a down payment for a house and graduate without any debt. Turned down several top 20 colleges and can't wait to be part of the Tide. Can't wait to rush and meet new people and will be happy in any of the houses. Can't wait to meet y'all.

Going to use you as an example and not saying you won't, but getting in a "top" house full of old HS friends from the same Alabama suburb has nothing to do with your reasons for being here.

Perfect 'keep it in perspective' point to me!

Best of luck
