by: activedear pnms please do not base your opinions on houses because what is said on this website. go in with and open mind and try to not have your heart set on one house. recruitment is a crazy week filled with lots of emotions but it is all worth it in the end! also if you end up in a house you didn't want on bid day give it two weeks..you might end up loving it!

I think it is ok to have a general idea of what you think going in, but you have to adapt. Also I agree with others that it is ideal if you come in with the attitude that you are open to every single house. It is so much more fun that way and you will have the best result that way. "Best" being the right fit. Let the process work

Know that ALL sororities at UA- even those who are "bottom tier" on here- are better than top tier at other schools. UA has the biggest and best Greek system in the country. No sorority is easy to get into at UA. All are good- it just depends on how you feel at each house during recruitment. Good luck, ladies!!

TBH, each house has diverse members made up of OOS, legacies, and in-state women and are basically the same. All take in well over 100 new women each year through a process that only allows for them to meet and talk to PMNs for less than 2.5 hours spread over several days... so each house is going to pick up some great people and pick up some that turn out to be not so great. Local women and those from major HS in Alabama who know women in houses may have more "connections" with house then OOS women and be heavily recruited to a house...but that does not mean these "connected" women are better than an OOS woman with almost no connections who gets picked up by "lower" houses. All houses pick up awesome women, are large and diverse, and are basically all the same.

Yep. It is why it is total BS when OR acts all better than NR. (Or when the Greekrank trolls act like that, actually).

JUst know that you can never really know a houses until you're inside of it, so if even if you have friends/ connections/ etc in a certain house you still only really have an idea of it.
Mostly it's important to give all the other houses an honest chance and don't come in saying "I'm going to be an XYZ and that's that" because other houses will probably end up surprising you and you'll love them too!
