top 5 sororities

by: ALum

My daughter will be attending next year from Atlanta. She will be a Phi Mu legacy but I want her to find the group that is best for her. That being said, I would like HONEST input on what is considered the best 5 sororities at UAT. They may not be the best for her but I would like to know. She is smart, very pretty, social but not wild, and kind hearted. \n\n\n\n\n

AXO, Phi Mu, XO, OR Kappa Kappa Gamma, KD, Tri-Delta
Top tier depending on which youre looking for! From your bio she sounds like an Alpha chi, chi o, phi mu girl (if she has a good rush and has her pick of which house id pick those three they are classy old row and accomplished still have fun but not as crazy!)
She might end up likeing KKG,KD, DDD better and theyre great too just different great! A bit crazier but they have old money! Lots of fun pretty girls there! A lot of girls who grew up together!

If rush doesnt go her way and she slips through, unnoticed Alpha Gam is or her! Lots of sweethearts! Still have fun but just not top tier like the others! Beautiful new house!

New rows best houses are Zeta, Pi Phi, and alpha phi

But it is up to her to find her home! Dont sway her decisions! You always end up where youre suppossed to! Trust the system!

Dont let her believe awful tent talk!

Happy rushing!

Alpha Gam is forsure top tier. The homecoming queen was an alpha gam and they are the nicest girls on campus hands down.

Who ever this "bunch of crap" character is, was clearly a phi mu who was dropped from rsh completely or is a g-phi! Gamma phi is great if that is what your daughter gets but know this! No sorority has an entire pledge class picked out! They do have opinions but they change! ALOT! Also know this, not every girl they have an eye one has thier top eye on them! So they couldnt puck a pledge class because some gurls would pref a different house!

I can't believe you're a sorority alumna and on here asking this question. If you really are an alumna, you would know that's a rude question to ask. You'd also know that the more you think you'll only "accept" certain sororities, the more likely you are to be dropped by all of them.
Quite frankly...IF DD gets a bid, the group of women she will be joining will be outstanding, no matter what their letters are. All UA sororities have smart, attractive, talented women. They also have not-so-smart, plain, and not-so-talented women who have to work hard for their grades.
There are so many women wanted to pledge a sorority that they all can pick and choose the top candidates.
Just be glad she gets a bid!
And if she doesn't there are dozens of interesting groups in which to get involved.

If you're daughter wend to a good private school in Atlanta, why would she even be applying to Alabama??

The school's a good fit socially, maybe it's a good school for whatever she wants to major in, maybe she had National Merit recognition, Bama gives a lot of scholarships for that. Plenty of reasons potentially.

Alum, Panhellenic is hosting a sorority preview day on February 23rd. Go to the Bama Panhellenic website to read all about it, and try to arrange for your daughter to attend the event.

The Trunk. You get a little bit of overpriced junk. Just send flowers.

What Alpha Phi Troll---actually thinks that Alpha Phi is the best New Row. They are ranked down at the bottom. They are constantly giving everyone the wrong impression.

They are pretty good and rising fast. They are fun! And I am a ZTA, not an APhi.

Is pretty much the mirror image of ZTA. Both are known for beautiful party girls (who could stand to study a little harder). Only real difference between them is ZTA is the third house on campus and APhi just recolonized five years ago.

You already know where your daughter will be attending next year? This looks like a thread started to hype certain sororities.

I am an 'old row' alum and my daughter who is a smart, beautiful, sweet and a talented dancer went 'new row' last year and couldn't be happier. She preffed two old row sororities but ranked them second and third. She had a great year and has become friends with some amazing girls! I am so proud of her decision to branch out.
