job
by: worriedRecently my mom and dad have put their foot down with me and said I need to get a job once I get into the swing of things at bama. I was wondering if I'll get judged by fellow sisters for having a job lol

Is it try to pay for dues? Or just to be responsible or for your "fun money"?
If it for dues or school supplies or anything.... You can't really do that. Its too hard. Im sorry but it is.
Other wise it is fine. Most employers around here hire students and youll know when you have chapter and events in advance. I got super lucky and got set up with with a recptionist gig at a law firm and just made sure I could get there by 11 Tuesdays and Thursdays. 2 other girls worked there and we all just had to work out schedules out accordingly.
Any job at night or a weekend is going to be way harder.

Anyone that judges you for making $$ is an idiot and not worth your time, tbh. There is nothing silly about saving your money, getting some experience under your belt, and not having to rely on your parents for an allowance like you're still 14 and wanna go to the mall after school.
#4by: Hmm @worried
Then you are so ok!! Agree with everyone on here! Just be prepared if you have a job that that night or weekend shifts you might have to miss a few things. I wouldn't wait on fining one however. The better jobs go fast. If you could serve somewhere fun that would be ideal. You still get off intime to go out and its better than retail or fast food. Do not do MLM or selling wraps lol you will be looked after differently. No one wants their sisters or friends basically begging for business and you don't make much.
#6by: Ok ok
You should be judged for not a having a job? Get real who are you to judge anyone. My best friend on the planet has to spend every free hour during the week studying to maintain above a 3.0. In fact she has one of the highest gpas in the chapter! She has a learning disability but is the smartest funniest person ever!! Some people are blessed and under stand that
#8by: Okok
I didn't say she had a 3.0 I said she has a learning disabilty and IF she didnt have extra time to study, office hours and tutors she couldn't even keep a 3.0. Her words!!! I have a 3.4 and work but and she is at 3.8!!! Also she works at a country club during the summer so back off!! Some people can't do it all! Some people can! Sorority life if done right really helps your grades.
