theta recruitment video

I thought it was cute. It pretty much looks like every other Recruitment video I've ever watched, but really, what more could they do, except have people actually on camera talking about what their sorority means to them?
Do houses actually pay to have these things done? (Someone above mentioned something about money might be better spent for bid day.) I guess I'm surprised that in a house with 400 people, not a single one of them could make it on their own.

I think what a lot of people forget is that recruitment videos are just "hype" videos. They're meant to get PNMs excited about rush and excited to visit that sorority. Videos like this aren't trying to get PNMs to say, "Wow now I have to pledge Theta!" Theta knows this, I'm sure. They're probably just trying to get their name out their and put themselves on the radar. Not every house is good at recruitment and can compete competitively with other houses. So showing what they are like outside of rush in a video like this was a good PR move on Theta's part.

Just from the looks of it, I'm pretty sure Theta's video was produced and edited by their girls. On the other hand, AOPi paid CollegeWeekly to produce/edit/post their video this year. For the most part, unless it's through a company, houses do all the work for producing videos. I know sometimes if a girl knows someone not in their house who's good at editing then they'll have him/her do it at either no/little cost.
I think the commented above just meant that it would've been more beneficial to Theta to produce a more relevant type of hype video.
