rho chis

Speaking as a former rho chi, there are some that do this but not many do it intentionally. Especially younger ones or ones that haven't done it before because they are more attached to their house. Trust me when I say it is REALLY HARD to not speak your house up more when a PNM you really like is torn between your house and another... You just want them to love your house like you love your house. You want to reassure them that whatever their concern may be, your house is a great place to be.

With that being said I don't think it's usually about getting "top" girls to go to your house. More like you see a girl that you think would fit great in your house and you want to make them like it. One of the hardest parts of being a rho chi is remembering it's their membership, not yours, no matter what you think about the PNM.

I second what @rho chi said. 98% of the time rho chis have the absolute best intentions, but we know our house best obviously so it can be hard not to hype up all the things we love about it. On the other hand, I had two different girls in my group who were trying to decided between a top tier OR house and my house (a lower-mid NR house), and while I loved both the girls and think they would have been amazing in my house I could tell that they were leaning more towards the old row house so I encouraged them to put it first. Most rho chis would never try to steer a pnm away from a house they loved to selfishly try to get them in our own house
