snap bids/ cob
by: ConfusedWhat is the difference? Can you get a snap bid if you were released before pref? If you dropped out of recruitment? Basically does your rho chi reach out to you? And cob is for everyone who didn't turn down a bid right? So you could still have a "bid day" if you are a snap bid but not if you participate in COB? I am way WAY oos, pretty, 3.4 gpa. The only Alabama connection I have 2 Alabama legacy houses but no one in my family has lived in the south since before my parents were born. It just family tradition and I am SO SO excited!! I am going to be here all 4 years and my brother is coming next year.

Snap Eligible - Was released from all houses before pref, but ranked each house where she attended (didn't leave a house off her list) and attended each house where she was invited, meaning she did not drop a house or drop out of recruitment. Snap bids are offered personally by phone or in person before bid day and run home with everyone else. Only a few actives will know if anyone got snapped and the new member class does not know.
COB Eligible - Did not turn down a bid or accept a bid and drop within a full year, meaning she did not sign the MRABA and then go against it. Could have been released from all houses or dropped out of recruitment.
Both are options if it doesn't work out, but neither should be an intentional strategy.
