Rush was the hardest thing I have ever done. It is emotionally and physically exhausting. EXHAUSTING.

It's a necessary evil and of course, it ends up being worth it. But I was so unprepared for how draining it is. Cried myself into oblivion at pref because I couldn't decide. Don't let anyone tell you where to pledge. It's your decision, not theirs!

Yes, I did have some hard times during rush where I cried and yes I did get dropped from houses loved. But, I really enjoyed learning about all the houses and it was fun finding the right place for me.

My rho chi last year put it this way: the best week of your life that you never want to go through again.

It's stressful and exhausting and really hard for a lot of girls but it's an incredible week and so beyond worth it

Personally I big reason why I didn't enjoy rush was because I was too self conscious and too worried about what other people were thinking about me. I was so dead set on trying to get a bid from houses that clearly didn't want me that I completely overlooked the houses that matched me best and truly wanted me for me. Rush is the time to be selfish. It's the time to find a house that wants you for you... Not because you have a lot of insta followers, not because you're another pretty face, not because you're just from their target zip code.

Rush wasn't a pleasant experience for me because I was too caught up with ranks and reputations... If you're a PNM reading please don't make that mistake.

Very well put. I always say when it comes to rush there are no top or bottom houses, there are houses that are good fits for you and houses that aren't

I am so glad I wasn't a legacy to any house. The added stress of a mom or sister pressuring me towards their houses would have been too much!

Yeah, I think in-house legacies have it really tough. I'm a legacy to a couple houses but all of my family members went to smaller schools in the northeast and they really didn't care where I went one way or the other. I'm still grateful to them for never mentioning it or pressuring me to go where they went.
