grades
by: pnmI'm keeping an open mind while going thru rush however grades are very important to me and I was wondering how competitive is it to get into the sororities with the highest grades (AXO, XO, AGD, DDD, ADPi) I'm looking for a good combination of grades, sisterhood and campus involvement. I want the social aspects, but I'm not so much into the party scene if you know what I mean.

I'd like to mention that those are just the top five houses from this most recent semester... Over years, houses change and most have moved up and down in the grade reports. That being said, every house has girls who are extremely academically driven. If you're someone who really wants to focus on academics then you'll definitely find a group of girls in all houses who are just like you.
But to answer your question, I'd say AXO, XO, DDD, and AGD will be the most competitive to get into considering they're all old row. These four houses are looking for a Southern majority pledge class and honestly a lot of old row houses don't rush based on merit, meaning more often than not they're going to give a bid to a friend who has a bad resume over a stranger with an amazing resume.
ADPi is generally not that competitive, so you should be fine with them.
I'd also suggest you to look into Theta, PBP, and PM if you want houses that have a lot of girls who are serious about academics.

Here's my honest opinion on grades (if you care). There are so many girls in every house that if grades are important to you, you can find friends that also feel that grades are important. Alpha Chi may have great grades, but you could be in ZTA or Alpha Phi and still care about your grades. Academically no house will discourage you from doing well in school. Choose a house based on the whole picture during recruitment and don't worry too much about this right now.
