rush
by: ?Can you still get a bid if you decide to rush with anything less than a 3.0?

It will be VERY hard. Most houses are open to grade risks unless you're an important girl. The houses that tend to take the most grade risks are APhi, Zeta, DZ, and GPB. But in general, I'd say just rush and see where you end up and if you don't like the house then work on your grades and rush again sophomore year.

There are girls every year who come in with grades below a 3.0 and get bids. You will definitely limit yourself to the bottom five houses for grades (and even those aren't gauranteed to take you). Hopefully you are bringing something else to the table to help your case (looks/ involvement/ connections/ awesome personality)

My house still wouldn't take you. Having a lot of involvement but below a 3.0 indicates (to us) that you put extra-curricular/social involvement above your academic success and there's nothing to say you won't continue to do it. I know it sounds harsh but we have plenty of PNMs that were involved while also getting 3.0s and we don't have any reason to make an exception.

It's not as hard if you're a PNM who's well rounded in all other aspects... But if the OP is already pushing it with low high school involvement, little to no connections, average appearance, etc. then it will be extremely hard.
