axo bid day

by: ua

Does anyone know why AXO didn't get in trouble for having a bid day party this past year?

How do you know they did not?

Recruitment violations are fines and nobody would know what happened to AXO for that situation, if it was a violation of anything.

No. Those parties are social and alc violations so have social based punishment

I know that Theta had a bid day party for their PC '15 and they ended up being put on social probation... So why isn't that the same case for AXO. And I know AXO had their party (with alc) actually in their house. I'm not hating I was just genuinely curious.

I'm an active but I haven't gone through rush on the other side yet so I'm not sure, but don't a lot of houses have bid day parties?? They just don't usually get caught

Um, what's the difference? Aren't sororities allow to party on bid day? Don't the houses have celebrations?

No one's allowed to throw bid day parties, but some houses do. Some houses say actives can't even drink, but again. We do lol

Most houses have bid day parties for the actives, but not funded by the chapter and also not in their house.

I know AXO had a party for their new members in their house and allowed alcohol in the house.

So what's the difference in a bid day party and a bid day retreat? And don't actives and the new members celebrate together?

Okay. A bid day party is a party that's a whole house party, meaning that it's for both actives and the new members. These types of parties are not allowed by Panhellenic and if a sorority does have one then they can get into serious trouble. Actives who drink on Bid Day do so individually, there's no party to it. The Bid Day retreat is the retreat all new members go on a few hours after getting their bids. These retreats aren't parties, they're sort of a mini vacation where you can meet all your new sisters and get educated on your specific sorority. On the retreats, a small group of actives go (about 20 or so) just to help with organize the crowd.

You're full of sheet. No such thing happened. Sounds like you're bitter because they very deservedly dropped you
