ranks w/o tiers

Okay, let's forget the traditional tiers for a minute because I think it might be helpful to show PNMs how much peoples preferences and perspectives vary during and after How would you - and you alone, ignore what mom or friend sitting next to you would say - rank the houses? Who was/is your top, middle and bottom?
P.S. we can all assume that people will put their house as top so let's put the whole "oh hey there abc" or sarcastic "okay xyz, maybe in your mind!" aside for a minute.

Coming from out of state and doing absolutely no research about rush before showing up on campus (didn't know this website existed) Heres what I honestly thought the ranks were after IWT:
(no order)
Top: PBP, GPB, KKG, AXO, APhi
Middle: XO, AOII, AGD, KD, ADPi, DDD
Bottom: Theta, DZ, PM, Zeta

After IWT 2014: (I knew what the rankings were but this is how I felt about the house from my party experience)
1. AXO, Phi mu, DDD, XO, KD
2. Pi Phi, KKG, ADPi, AGD,
3. AOPi, DZ, DG, ZTA
4. Alpha phi, Theta, Gphi
Now, personal ranking:
1. AXO, KKG, XO, DDD
2. Phi mu, AGD, KD, Pi Phi, ZTA, ADPi
3. Gphi, DG, Alpha phi
4. Theta, DZ, AOPi
And no, did not list my house as top

After my IWTs last year...
Loved: AXO, ADPi, XO, KAT
Liked but wasn't 100% sure about: AOPi, DDD, DG, GPB, KKG, PBP
Disliked: AGD, APhi, DZ, KD, PM, ZTA
A full year later
Best fits: AXO, ADPi, DG, KAT
Would be cool in: XO, DDD, KKG, PBP, PM
Not for me: AGD, AOPi, APhi, DZ, GPB, KD, ZTA

Aaaaaand there it is. Some people are actually genuine, you know that right? From the posts above I don't see anything to indicate that they're pushing a specific house. Now, if someone started off a ranking with Top: Theta, DZ I might agree with you but that hasn't happened

Nope! My point was that if you're gonna say something is self ranking there should be something that is obviously self ranking. If someone on here put that they think DZ is top tier I wouldn't tell them their opinion is wrong but I would probably think they are a DZ, whereas I doubt any of the above posters are Alpha Chis.

Your logic is completely backwards. And you're actually perpetuating stereotypes. Even if a house is traditionally lower ranked, people can still genuinely like it... Kind of like how AXO or XO are traditionally higher ranked houses yet people can still genuinely dislike them...
Weird how it's always self ranking when a lower ranked house gets some positive feedback yet it's never self ranking when a higher ranked houses gets the same feedback....

just personal vibes with the house... no hate to any of them, just sometimes you don't really mesh with a house or a lot of the girls you meet on campus from said house.

Most of the time for me I felt like the girls I spoke to during recruitment ended up being less indicative of the chapter as a whole. You have to remember during rush you're still talking to individuals... I had the most awkward convos at the house my now-best friend is in, and I had great convos at a house that I haven't met a single girl I "meshed" with since. You just never know who you're getting and how exactly they represent the house.

You've gotta know you're going to get some snark for this. And this is why PNM's need to ignore this site and its embedded antiquated rankings! PNMs will find their true home when listening only to their hearts!!!
