Year after year more girls come to UA from out of state or abroad with 0 connections... but year after year our % of girls receiving bids does not decline. Don't worry. This website might make you feel like you are alone, but you aren't in the slightest.

i am international too, but im not worried at all and you shouldn't be either. many internationals have rushed with no connections and have gotten into phi mu, gpb, etc

you can rush no matter how "different" you are. There are certain houses that look for a pledge class of 150 girls they already have, and there are chapters that look for girls that will strengthen their sisterhood, involvement, and overall chapter excellence. We had many foreign exchange students at my high school and their inability to speak english as easily as we do didnt impede them from making friends. A lot of times the international students are the sweetest girls and guys that are just looking for kind, welcoming people since they are so far from home and it actually hurts my heart that youre telling this girl she should be able to join a sorority because she wasnt born where you were. I hope you rush and find a home of girls who love you for you and not your zip code girly
