kd's house
by: ?I know that XO never rebuilt their house, they just did a big remodel and addition. But from the old pictures, from decades ago, I've seen of KD's house it looks like it's the same house... I was just wondering if they actually rebuilt their house or if they remodeled it??

alpha chi bought the tri delt house and tore it down to expand, moving tri delt down the street. Do not think the new tri delt house is externally attractive (I liked the circle house) but wondered why they chose to move.
Also wonder what was across from kappa previously? Pi phi? Zeta?

DZ is behind kappa, like they back up to one another, if that's what you meant. Back in the 90s though pi phi was actually across from kappa where the stadium is now. Gphi was over there at some point too

From Bryant- alpha phi, phi mu, kappa, alpha chi. On the other side of colonial the only thing I know is gphi and pi phi were over there a long time ago. They may be the only sororities who were there but I know when TKE was here they were somewhere across from phi mu.
Everywhere else pre 2008ish: if you were walking from tut on your left would be gamma phi, zeta, dz, tri delt with alpha gam directly in front (where aopi is currently). On your right would be adpi, aka, chi o, pi phi, KD. Dg and aphi hadn't colonized yet. Aopi and theta have been where they are for as long as anyone can remember.

The old Colonial alignment pre-stadium expansion starting from Bryant Drive SDT, PM, KKG, AXO on the right and university hall, Phi Sigma Kappa, Pi Phi, Theta and AOPi on the stadium side.

Yes, TKE is a frat. There used to be a few fraternities over on the sorority side.

I thought TKE was only ever in the original Sigma Chi house on University (next door to DKE) ... were they in another location at some point?
I know Phi Sig was in the old AEPhi house for a while. I think that was also Gamma Phi's very first house when they came to campus -- Sigma Kappa was in the old AXiD house when they were active the second time, then Gamma Phi got it after they closed and stayed until they built their new house.
University Hall was the old DG house. Wasn't the old APhi/DPhiE house also on the stadium side of Colonial?

I recently takes to a TKE who said their house was across from phi mu at some point but honestly he could be confused lol, I don't know for sure. Gamma phis house was the one with three floors and the green shutters-- not sure who lived there before. The alpha phi house that was owned by SDT for a long time was not on the stadium side, not sure if that's the one you're talking about. Gphi did move into the old axid house, a friend told me that alpha xi had written a bunch of ritual stuff on the basement walls and bricked it up when they left so gphi didn't have much of a basement.

APhi's original house (not the old SDT house) was built for them in the 1930s. When they closed in the early '60s, DPhiE moved in and stayed until they closed in the early '70s. Phi Kappa Sigma lived there for a while too.

Where it is now. They just took over an additional lot and now have the corner too.

DZ used to be directly across from Kappa.
Tri Delt moved because their lot just wasn't big enough to build a huge new house on. The round house was round in order to maximize limited space.
