i know a girl who had KD and DG at pref. She went DG. I swear !! I could not believe it but she is from an area where she had no knowledge of tiers. I don't know how anyone in KD could pref her with their whole heart and she probably felt that. Don't hop on and dispute this bc i are and i would have gone KD prob but i LOVE that she did this. She would have been a filler at KD and now she is thriving at DG.

sorry for those moments of illiteracy above. Does anyone else ever have this thing skip around? Anyway, that did happen in rush 2016. I don't think it happens as frequently with the other ORs tbh.

What exactly are filler girls?

Houses like KD and Kappa go after a certain group of girls hard core. They are from mountain Brook and mobile & a few scattered amongst the other cities. They have these girls who they focus on and swarm more than you were swarmed, contact all summer and use other means to get them. They will pledge about 20- 25 of these in a good year at KD. Kappa gets more. The rest they don't care about as much so those are the fillers. They like you enough to tolerate you in the house, but no one is on the floor crying if you go elsewhere.

This doesn't happen at all sororities and that is why they are happier places bc everyone was wanted for the most part.

Fillers are also some legacies that they don't really care that much about. This is the saddest bc these girls feel they should pledge out of loyalty and the chapter could care Less.

Lists of cast offs tbh. Legacies are usually awesome but omg some of the ones they take. Not into the party all night andgo to church on Sunday mantra. Tired of looking at the Christian quotes while holding Guatemalan babies in the arms of girls I know party as hard as any zeta or alpha phi & then turn their noses up. So fake.

I would rather be with snobby KD than 1/2 of this place. I feel sorry For the good 1/2.

A pnm's experience in a house is only as good as who she interacted with. Some actives are not good at recruitment either. Like they got through their own recruitment and all, and did the workshops with their chapter, but are just not the best at the small talk and question-and-answer skills. Plus, some days are just really tough for actives too. If you have gone through on the other side as an active, you know there is so much stress and exhaustion and drama going on in your house that week. An active may have just found out that her favorite pnm isn't coming back, or got some other bad news, or is physically sick or exhausted, or has had some harsh words with some of her sisters. It's a tough time for everyone. That doesn't excuse if a pnm feels they were not treated well at a house, but it may not be because the house didn't like you.

yes, you can certainly do whatever you want but DON"T present yourself as better than others who do it and constantly post pictures of your service. True service is service when no one is looking.

AGD bothers me bc they preach and are as wild as any zeta & aphi they look down on. The others don't preach or hide what they are.

A really long time ago when my sister rushed( she had like no idea what rush was like btw), and she didn't know that houses like KD are really just looking for rich girls. Anyway... the girl in KD said "so what does your Daddy do?"

My dads job is hard to explain and a bit boring, but like he makes a lot of money. My sister just thought that girl was running out of things to talk about so she said "well idrk what my dad does, but my moms a teacher!" And then right after she said that... she got put into this back room with a bunch of others girls, and they didn't get talked to. She was dropped from KD the next day lolol
