What houses did COB this year?? Will they do it again?

I know Alpha phi, zeta, and pm did. I'd bet they'll all do it again, alpha phi and zeta do basically every year

the ones I'm aware of are alpha phi, zeta, dz, pi phi, gamma phi, and phi mu.

SO MANY houses had to COB this year because total was soooo high after bid day. Total is now set at the average chapter size, so statistically speaking literally 1/2 of the chapters will "need" to do COB.

Im confused I thought houses COB when too many girls drop? How does it work?

COB can be used for any number of reasons. First and most prevalent is when a house is under total after bid day, which is approximately 8 houses every year because total is automatically reset to chapter average. Many of these chapters won't need to COB a significant number of girls, it could just be 7 or 8.

Another example is in the spring-- say a house has a ton of early December graduates. This might put them under total and they can COB. It can be used if a lot of members drop but I wouldn't say this is the most common reason.

I don't understand why all houses don't do COB! I know everyone will have drops and we all need members to help pay for these houses! If you have a good pledge candidate it just makes good business sense! I don't understand why some old row houses think it "looks bad". That is dumb!
