likes and dislikes

I was cut by DZ, AOPi, and GPB after philanthropy and went top OR. Makes me wonder if some lower tier houses have a little bit of "Tufts Syndrome" (google it) and cut girls they assume are going to go OR off the bat so that they can extend invites to as many girls who might reasonable pledge as possible?

Or maybe they just didn't have a connection with you or you weren't one of their top PNMs. Doesn't have to be some Internet Syndrome to blame. I mean you have looked around and seen there are tons of amazing girls to choose from. These houses all make cuts throughout the week looking for girls to best fit THEIR sisterhood. Good news it all worked out the way it was supposed to in the end for both you and them.

I'm in one of those houses and can't speak for the other two but I know that if we like a girl and she's got a good rep/ resume we would never cut her just because we thought she wasn't going to go our house (bc let's be honestly if dz/DG/gphi/AOPi/theta cut everyone who'd rather go somewhere else they'd be in trouble). I know girls in my house who chose our house over top tier old row houses (and I know girls in other bottom houses who that is also the case for).

sorry guys, didn't mean to offend you, there's nothing wrong with the so-called "lower tier" houses and you're right there are so many quality PNMs to chose from.

i just know that personally i strategically dropped a few OR houses that I knew I wouldn't fit in with despite their "reputation" and i was wondering if that ever happens from the other side.

I'm in a lower house and I understood your point. It really just depends. Usually we don't cut girls we consider top PNM's because we don't want to count ourselves out even though we realistically won't get those girls. To be honest, a lot of our selection is limited on who decides to come back to us. Our rush process is hard because since the actives are mostly OOS we don't know a lot of PNMs, and therefore almost all of our cuts are based off of the scores the PNM gets from the party. Unless a girl is a known legacy to us sometimes we don't even know she's a top PNM to other houses.
