Did anyone ever follow up on contacting the university for better lighting and patrol on and off campus? TBH the shooting (murder)across from alpha phi freaks me out and so does living off campus next year bc it is so dark - especially going down the road next to tut and hackleberry, which is where I know a lot of girls live. It is easy for outsiders to come on campus to these places and I find it scary. My sister's friend lives in that neighborhood and said there is zero lighting or visible police presence. Why???

It's bad off campus mainly. I read to call tusc police, city council, newspaper and UA police, and request better patrols and lighting and whatever else can deter crime.

I also don't think a bar should be across from the sororitys esp where the clientele is not students. The strip is pretty much its own entity and always crowded. It also needs patrols and lighting though as people leave. This other area is not patrollled.

This is just asking police and city councilmen to do their jobs. We give a ton of money to Tusc by living there.
