invites back?

I had 16-12-8-3. I'm from the south, no old money, had few connections, 4.0 gpa, tried my best to get max. amount of rec. letters for each house and ended up in what is considered "top tier old row" house.

My roommate was different though. 16-6-2-1. She's from the north an didn't have alot of recs. She ended up in a top NR house. Not having the max. amount of houses each round is not a bad thing. I wish I didn't have the max. amount of houses because I feel like I wasted a lot of time and took spots away from girls that wanted some houses that I knew I wasn't interested in joining and didn't connect with.

i had 16-10-5-3. Midwest OOS, high GPA, average looks. The houses that I lost after IWT were AXO, PM, KKG, ZTA, AGD, XO. For sisterhood round I went to KAT, KD, DG, DDD, and ADPi.

ADPi, DDD, and DG for pref and loved all three ... was confused why KD kept me so long because I had 0 connections but this year I have realized that not all sorority stereotypes are true!!!

I don't know. I'm starting to think that only having one house on Pref night is a good thing. I mean, I know there is a trade off. After all the cuts that I'd have to go through to have that happen, I'd be a basketcase, but assuming that I actually liked the house I had left at Pref, it would be nice to not have that night of panic and worry. Since I am a worrier, I'd probably convince myself that I somehow made the house change their mind after Pref and they got special permission to dump me, or something.

Question though. I've read that a house you rank low after IWTs can still be in your schedule if other houses dump you, but does that work in reverse at all? Can you end up going back to a house that decided to cut you?

Also, do the houses know that you ranked them low? I'm assuming not.

The poster "." Who said she was surprised and disappointed to see the house she preffed on her bid card might have confused some PNMs so I wanted to make something clear. If you attend only one pref party, that sorority is the only one that will appear on your bid card. She should not have been surprised that "ABC" sorority gave her a bid-she attended only that pref party. ABC was her only chance.

This is important for all PNMs to read! I wished I went into recruitment with these insights! I was like a deer in headlights! LOL! I did fine but not as easy week for me! Also, it seemed as though recs weren't stressed as much or necessary and now I've learned how important they are! I had 10 recs total and two for several houses! I was a legacy and dropped after philanthropy day by the house my heart was set on! My mom was upset for me too. I had a complete breakdown after my last pref party. Couldn't decide how to rank them. It's the funest yet hardest week of your life! Just remember all of our experiences as you go through! Good luck!

Far OOS, 4.2 GPA, average looks. I went 16-9-7-3. I preffed a top tier old row house, a middle NR house, and a bottom NR house. I ended up in the OR house and love it, though I honestly would have been happy in any of the houses that I preffed. Based on reputation, I expected to hate the house that I ended up in, but I really connected with them during rush and they never dropped me so I'm happy.

Is it really possible to get dropped by all 16??
