invites back?

by: recruitment

Hey so I'm wondering if anyone knows what the average # of invites PNMs get back every round? I know it's technically a max of 16-12-8-3 but about how many houses do most girls get back for philanthropy, sisterhood, and pref? If there isn't an average out there could I get a rough estimate or maybe just how many y'all were asked back each around?

OOS, 4.0 GPA, had 2 recs per house. I went 16-7-5-3. Ended up in the house that had been my favorite since IWTs, still super happy there.

I'm from the west coast, 3.4 GPA, cute but not stunning
I had 16-7-3-1
Happy with where I ended up but rush was kind of rough for me

3.4 GPA. Recs to most houses. 16, 12, 7, 3. I was dropped by all but one of the "pretty" houses ( kind of a bruise to the ol' ego) after IWT, XO, and AXO. My biggest crush happened after Philanthropy. Two of my top three dumped me and I was seriously wondering where I belonged. But, it gave me time to focus on and really get to know the other houses. I went to pref with one of my top three all week and two other houses I also liked.

I love this thread because it shows how different everyone's experiences are during rush!

To any PNMs reading:
This is YOUR rush experience... It's completely what you make of it. When I rushed, I went from 16 houses on IWTs to 5 on Philanthropy. Going Greek was something that I always envisioned for myself and played a big role in why I even chose to attend Alabama. So obviously, when I got my schedule back I was disappointed, especially when hearing other girls in my Rho Chi group complain about how busy their schedules were. But the truth is, it's pretty standard to not have anything close to a full schedule on any days after IWTs... But that doesn't mean you're not a good person nor does it mean you won't be able to find your home. I noticed that a lot of girls in my Rho Chi group were also shocked at how drastic the cuts were in their schedules, even the prettiest girls in my Rho Chi group were in the same boat as me.

Sorority life is what YOU make it out to be. If you decide to be upset and angry that your favorite house dropped you then you're only closing the door to a world of opportunities in another house. Everything happens for a reason, and even the worst situations can be a blessing in disguise.

I can't wait to meet of al y'all this August!!! #PanLove

i'm the person from page one who got back 4 houses for philanthropy and it was really difficult to hear people complain about how busy they were or complain about going back to houses that they thought were "lower tier" when some of those lower tier houses cut me. some girls are cut from all 16 houses so never think you're above them. every house is wonderful!

remember during rush to be kind to yourself and be kind to the people around you!!!! everyone is having a stressful time and you never know what the girl next to you is dealing with!! we are all sisters in our Panhellenic community & it is so important to be open, be positive, and remember why you signed up for recruitment to begin with. it will be worth it when you run home on bid day!

Southern OOS, 3.9, went 16-6-3-1. I'm happy now but still don't feel like I fit in very well at my house as it is majority northern which isn't exactly what I wanted. I also struggled a lot with going to one house on pref and feeling like I didn't have the power to choose. I was a little chubby when I rushed and I know that limited me majorly.

I can also attest to only having one house on pref... I was kind of disappointed only having one house because I also felt like I had no power. I felt a little sad the night of when all the other girls were so emotional about picking a house and I also didn't get to feel that exciting anxiety of which house I got on Bid Day. I mean now I love my house and I'm happy in it... But I do wonder where I might be had I had more options.

That being said, though, I stuck it out and pledged anyways. I originally wasn't too crazy about the one house I had left, I mean I didn't hate it but I also didn't love it. But I went into pledgeship knowing that if I don't like the house I can always drop before initiation and rush again. And I think it's important for girls who have limited options to be open! I never saw myself in the house I'm in now, but I'm thankful that things worked out the way they did. I've gotten to know the most humble, genuine, and fun girls I've ever met and I probably never would have had I not pledged. Sorority life depends so much on attitude... If you go into rush thinking you can only be in one house you're going to eventually be disappointed. Everything works out for a reason!

My experience was a little different, I only had one house for pref but I really liked that. Saved me SOOOOO much stress and anxiety over which to choose and I was automatically going to get my "top choice." The night before bid day so many of my friends were going out of their mind with worry, but I fell asleep already excited to be an ABC. It was wonderful.

It's also sort of special to go into a pref ceremony KNOWING the girls you talk to will be your sisters, KNOWING this is going to be your home. That's not an experience most PNMs get. So yeah... just wanted to share a different reaction to the same situation.

16-5-3-1
Was a tough cut after the first round and hurt even more because all 3 of my roommates had full schedules so I compared myself to them. At the end of the day, it only takes one!!! I love my house and couldn't imagine myself anywhere else.

16-4-2-2 I was from out of state, no connections, and a 2.8 gpa. I'm happy in my house. If I was completely honest, there are some houses I may have fit with better but I've learned that you'll make friends in pretty much whatever house you wind up in
