wealth during rush

by: $$

is the wealth of your family important during rush??? i read that a house can tell if you have money from the moment you walk in, but how important that is? I mean i can easily pay the dues and extra costs that come with greek life, but im not extremely rich or live in a wealthy city. Will that hurt me during rush?

What if you have money but don't live in a "known" wealthy area?

actives know that if you are enthusiastic about rushing then you are aware of the financial commitment, especially this upcoming year when chapters will be forced to disclose the financial info during recruitment. trust me, we will know from your resume, and it doesn't matter nearly as much as you might think it does because everyone rushing is middle/upper-middle class.

Some houses will let wealth play a small role in whether or not they pledge a girl. They just want to ensure that girls have the money to stick with a sorority all four years because it can definitely get expensive pretty quickly.

HONestly for most houses I think mostly what they are looking for is red flags that you wont be able to pay or that youll probablly end up dropping from financial reasons. If you say things that imply or directly say that you'll have trouble paying, houses will drop you.

All I know is houses need to find pnms that will not only be awesome sisters in the house, but they need girls who will stay the distance till graduation. Retention is a huge deal and money becomes an issue down the line. Houses with poor retention have higher quota at recruitment so they can maintain a healthy house total. This means being less selective. It is a cycle. So it all really starts with good retention.

Some houses are really down to earth and you'll notice that. And then there will be houses asking you what car you drive, what your parents do, and questions like that which make you uncomfortable. Those are the houses to avoid. There's one that's bizzare and shows you upstairs in their house but get fined. Trust your gut.

Something I was totally taken aback by during rush was a girl asking me if I wanted to take off my shoes during sisterhood. I politely declined since I thought it was very strange and when I mentioned it to my rho chi's I realized that they had wanted to see the brand on the inside of the shoe. They got cut to say the least lmao

Found another troll. This shoe thing is a tired old sorority rush myth that has been going around for a long time.

That is about as stupid of a meme as I have ever heard.
Nobody has to trick you to learn about what shoes you are wearing.
We will know what make and model of shoe you have on, without having to see a brand/label.
We are pro shoppers, most of us.
Just Saying.

You are just as bad. Probably another troll. PNM's can spend $500 or $50 or $5 on a pair of shoes. That has nothing to do with how put together a girl looks and how she presents herself. Talk about a stupid meme 'pro shoppers.'
