Would a denim dress be too casual for the first round of recruitment? Can I wear khaki shorts with my tshirts or should I stick to something more formal?

Only thing I'd say about a denim dress is that it will probably get too hot because the material can be heavy. If you're not from the south and accustomed to the weather stick to lighter materials! It gets hot out there

i'd say yes as long as its a thin denim. the heat will definitely get you and you don't wanna add to your discomfort.
